Pressure pump for weak water
For a shower that trickles, and hot water that takes an age to come through.
Most homes in Cyprus get their water from a tank on the roof, so the only push behind your taps is gravity. On the upper floors that is not much. A pressure pump takes water from the tank and sends it round the house at a steady, stronger pressure.
It helps with slow hot water too. When the water moves faster, the cold water sitting in the pipe clears sooner, so hot reaches the tap sooner.
Where it goes decides how long it lasts. We fit it on the cold supply, so hot and cold stay balanced and the pump never handles water from the solar tank, which gets hotter than home pumps are made for. And we put it out of the sun. Pumps left on an open roof are the ones that keep breaking.
It always draws from your tank, never straight from the mains.
